So instead of everyone gaining 20lbs on birthday cake, we get together once to celebrate everyone's special day, on the same day.
This year happened to be right on my dear-ol-dad's actual birthday, last weekend.
It was a really fun day, feeling slightly Christmasy with the gift exchange ... but I found myself feeling bad for the summer birthdays because we dont really do that much for them. Its just a busy time of year and often our weekends are full with yard work, camping, or other summer activities. October hosts many birthdays, so we combine that with Thanksgiving ... but my brother and my sister in law (and Dustin who is in November) are all left out of the birthday loop.
We'll need to change that I think!
