The waiting game is KILLING me (and very slowly, I might add). I am sooo wanting to be in the new house already and unpacking and creating a feeling of "home" again. Don't get me wrong, I'm totally thankful for a roof over my head where we are now, but with boxes in every corner and the boys asking for stuff that's packed away in the abyss of stuff in the garage, I'm ready to move and be done with the temporary house.
It's with that in mind that we decided to move sooner than later to the new place. We had originally thought we'd wait until Christmas break at school, but neither Dustin or I can wait that long.
So I've registered my boys at their new school (and cried in the car after, I totally admit that) and I've let their current school know that it will be sooner. We've got friends lined up to help us on the morning of Nov. 20, and now I'm counting down days! (18 from today until we get possession, and a few more until we move).
Dustin is completely bored out of his tree here too. It's not our house, so we're just living ... there's no little projects for him, no real yard work. He actually cleaned the bathrooms for me the other day, he was that bored. I know I should be loving it, but it's one less thing I have to do during the week!
We're watching more movies and TV than we ever have, and the boys are playing more video games than ever as well. I've read probably a dozen books, and Dustin is whizzing through autobiographies - thank goodness for the public library!
Isn't it weird how loooooong days feel when you're waiting for something??

I just love a good deal!
I ordered my photo Christmas cards today - for free! I love it! I get such a high from finding deals like this! I ordered them from an online company (shutterfly), and because I was making a new account with them, I got 50 free 4x6s! Well, lucky me - I made my own Christmas cards in a program on my computer, and uploaded them as regular 4x6s. So I paid a few bucks shipping (literally, $3.99!) and I've got my cards coming nice and early to be ready for Christmas. Sure feels good!

Fall Family Photos!
What's the most fun about Fall? FAMILY PICTURES! At least for me... but then again, a camera and pictures are like water and air to me! I think my most prized possessions are my pictures of my kids and Dustin. They are irreplaceable memories, and even ones that don't "turn out" tell a story that, when I look back on them, make me smile. Some pictures I thought were disastrous at the time are some of my favorites years later.
I spent this last weekend taking photos for a couple of friends and their families. Then I took some for Dustin's sister and her family. As I was editing them, I got jealous. I thought, 'No fair! I want family pictures in these locations!' and when I called Dustin's mom to ask her to take some for us, she was more than willing.
I am so happy I have some great shots here too (this is the farm's yard that we're staying at until we take possession of the new house in November). It's a fabulously photogenic yard with amazing trees and an old looking barn. (Thanks for taking them Mom!)
The boys had fun climbing trees - although the pics we took in front of the field fence had the whole province's share of mosquitoes in that 4X4 space!!
Between being the photographer, and then being the subject over the weekend, both positions that don't let you move around and swat bugs easily, my legs look like I'm recovering from the chicken pox! Even with wearing jeans both days, they just bit right through!
I guess it's just the price of doing what I love, and getting what I love.
It was worth every bite!

The big party!
Because Zach's birthday landed on Thanksgiving weekend here, we had a bunch of parties for him! One with his friends on Saturday mid-day, one with my parents and one with Dustin's side. It worked out well seeing everyone for gatherings!
There are so many things that I love about Zach. He's wonderfully athletic, with an interest in practically every sport. He's great at basketball, great at baseball, and is working hard at football. He adores soccer, and gets kinda goofy with badminton. The only sport he's not into, is swimming. Water in his ears, or anywhere near his nose does not go over well with him.
Zach is outgoing, blunt, and sometimes even tactless - but he does it in a way that I can't help but laugh at him while I explain why he shouldn't say some things.
He's forgetful and is constantly in motion, never pausing for a second to really think things through. He's impulsive, but with a good healthy dose of fear too.
He can be really thoughtful and sweet, going out of his way to give me a hug, or tell me something special. He's really an amazing kid!
Zach is loud, loud, loud! I didn't know so much noise could come from such a small pair of lungs. And it's strange, he wasn't an overly loud baby either.
All-in-all, Zach is one of a kind, and we love him SOOOOO much, there aren't enough words for it.

7 Year Pictures!!
I can't believe Zach is 7! I also can't believe the incredibly nice weather we're having this October! Most years I do Zach's pictures a month in advance because the chill is in the air and the tell-tale signs of winter are all around. This year, we dealt with mosquitoes and being too warm in a long sleeve shirt! Not that we're complaining ... we all know the snow will come evenutally!
