Costumes were simple; things like reading glasses from the dollar-store that we popped the lenses out of, or a simple cardigan over a sundress, a strand of peals...
Brad went as a beach boy, which I thought totally suited him... the gelled hair just completed the look.
Zach looked a little tougher, I kept picturing him singing the Grease Lightning song with John Travolta! But when he added his glasses, I kept seeing the kid from "A Christmas Story". Ralphy ("You're gonna shoot your eye out!"), remember him? Anyway, Zach was adorable too.
Dustin did his best to dress up, but with short hair that he couldn't slick, the white tee and jeans was all he had.
I went all out, buying red lipstick and nail polish just for the evening. It was fun to wear something I normally wouldn't be caught dead in! Red lipstick just isnt for me!
With Marlene, my mother-in-law (aka 'the birthday girl') in her grandpa's old car. It was super special that the couple who own it now let them borrow it for the day. Some day my inlaws will buy it - we just have to convince the couple to sell it :)
We went for a little drive in the car before the party, just her and I - dressed like that. We got some pretty funny looks! lol!
