I had to put them online, and luckily, it only took a day to find them a more suitable home. The boys were not that upset since they were hand feeding the kittens a few times a day and could see that this was the right thing to do.

That's Pushover with a capitol "P". My friend's cat had kittens. Do I need to say more?
I don't know why I find it so hard to say no to my kids when it comes to pets. Probably because I'm such a sucker for those little baby faces too. Kittens and puppies melt me.
Can't say I'm a huge fan on Cats though. I'm more a dog person that way. I love dogs. But they seem to be a lot more work, so I'm good with only one.
Anyway, I'm way off topic. Sort of.
When Zach asked for a kitten from my friends' cat's litter;
a) Dustin wasn't around. This may not seem like a big deal, but he is the backbone to saying no to the kids over pets we dont really need. And another kitten when we already have 3 definitely falls into that category.
He is capable of seeing past those cute little baby faces and see the bags and bags of cat food it will eat in it's lifetime, that he will have to work to pay for.
b) it was supposed to be ONE more.
So, Friday my friend called and said that the little kitten Zach had picked out was ready to come home. Dustin had already sort of agreed that it was ok to add another mouth to this farm here, and I have to say, I was super impressed with him when I texted him and told him that one more mouth was actually going to be two. He just shrugged it off. Maybe cats are just disposible? That's a terrible thought, but really ... if one or two ran off, I don't think I'd be too heartbroken either. As long as it wasn't Orange-y that is .... but our love affair with that kitty is another post.
Anyway, back to my explanation of how one kitten doubled...
Once we got to my friend's, her daugher (the sweetest girl who would love and save every animal on this planet if she could) was in tears that if we only took ONE kitten, it would be scared and lonely all by its little self.
Now remember, I am a pushover to begin with on animals ... add some tears and I'm as good as whipped.
So....Brad picked out one too. Well hey, we have to be fair right?? Two kids, two kittens.
Bah!
We now have 5 "kittens". 3 are 6 months old and nearly ready to be adding whole litters more to this funny farm here, and 2 are 6 weeks old and being showered in "love" from Abby (aka drool).
Another friend told me that her mom needs to find a home for 4 kittens and she jokingly told her to call me. (am I already becoming "that cat lady"?!). I told her I would not even allow my boys to see them! I'm a goner if they do!!
Anyway, as much as I joke about there being too many (and there are!), my boys will never say I went back on my word that once we lived in the country we could get more pets!
