Happy "Birthday" Abby!

Abby is our dog. It's actually more of an anniversary than a birthday - it was one year ago (on July 17th) that her previous family gave her to us. They didn't know her actual birthday, since they got her from a rescue shelter when she was a year or two old (the vet couldn't be sure, they told us), so we picked that day to be her birthday.
Anyway, they had her for 4 years, but with two small children and postage stamp sized yard in the city, they were finding it too much to keep up with Abby's needs for walks and exercise.... lucky us!

Abby is such a wonderful addition to our family - she looooooves the boys, is well mannered, and obedient, but she's also incredibly protective and defensive of our home and us.

She really is the best dog we could imagine! Calm, loving, yet full of spunk when she needs to be.
